Culturonda® Dolomythos
12 rounds on culture and lifestyle in the Dolomites
Since 2009 the Dolomites (
Catinaccio/Rosengarten) are a declared Unesco World Natural Heritage site. Reinhold Messner even calls them the most beautiful mountains in the world. But how can we make this major award and experience available to both, tourists and locals, without disrespecting the sustainable development of this unique mountain region? The answer: Culturonda® Dolomythos.
At
twelve stations, this
Culture Guide offers a new view of the Dolomites (
Catinaccio/Rosengarten), the people who live there, and their history. The project comprises the South Tyrolean Dolomite area from a geographical and thematic point of view, and combines the following topics:
- geology
- the Alpenglow phenomenon
- troubadour Oswald von Wolkenstein
- legends and myths
- trade roads
- alpinism
- the beginning of tourism
- Dolomites, theatre of war
- Ladin language
- water
- nature sights
- the four Nature Parks in the Dolomites
Culturonda® Dolomythos has chosen three special points of interest for each of the twelve topics. Hence, the "Geologists Path" at Alpe di Siusi explains the rock composition of the Dolomites, and in the chapter on the Ladin legends the brochure explains what the "Parliament of Marmots" is all about for example.
Culturonda® offers culture as a journey of discovery. The routes can be individually planned and combined. Furthermore, the brochure also includes a map with 40 cultural points of interest.
