Hiking Tours

From the car park in Tiers/Tires you follow the sign-posts no. 4 "Tschafon und Völsegg" and hike along a narrow asphalt road (no: 6) in a north-westerly direction. Above the Tischler Farm the path leads through a forest. When looking down to the valley you enjoy a view of alpine meadows, and in spring and summer you can admire aquilegias of various colours. A little bit further up after the road is closed off with a gate, you reach a protruding rock. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley all the way to the valley basin of the city of Bozen/Bolzano. This place is very interesting from a geological point of view: An erosion pit lies in front of you, and deep grooves bring the red earth of the rocks underneath to light.
On the path to the Völsegg harbour there are several benches where you can enjoy a break. A short section of forest follows after the houses before you reach the shrine "Völsegger Bild" (1247). From here you could continue your hike in a westerly direction to Schönblick (cp. hike no. 2), but we will continue the hike in the opposite direction. In an easterly direction two paths lead into the forests and we recommend hiking back to Tiers/Tires on the lower path (6U). At an altitude of 1166 m you reach a fork and thereby the eighth Station of the Cross from Tiers/Tires to the small church S. Sebastiano (path no. 4). If you want to reach Tiers/Tires quickly you can follow sign-post no. 4 to "Tiers". back
