Nordic walking in Tires al Catinaccio/Tiers am Rosengarten and at Alpe di Siusi

The hike starts in Tiers/Tires at the town hall. From the village square a path leads in an easterly direction and quickly brings you to the meadows above Tiers/Tires. From here you take the sign-posted path 6U in an easterly direction. At an altitude of 1090 m you see a wayside cross and a shrine. First the path leads through forests before leading onto an asphalt road crossing the slope in front of the Pattissenhof Farm. On this road you descend to the Wuhner forest road and reach Weißlahnbad/Lavina Bianca at 1200 m. Now you hike along the edge of the forest, past car parks and down to Ciamin River.
A small bridge crosses the river and to Tschaminschwaige and to the interesting Nature Park Centre Schlern-Rosengarten/Sciliar-Catinaccio. The Nature Park Centre is located in the former Steger Sawmill. Once a week during the summer months, a saw worker opens a small water channel and thereby activates the saw wheel of the ancient Venetian sawmill. After complete restoration of the operating system and the wooden drive, the saw is now fully functional again. During the opening times you can even observe how a large tree trunk is cut apart. back
